Overview

Our roll press equipment is used for pressing advanced materials, including materials for secondary battery electrodes.
We have been involved in the manufacturing of rolling mills for iron and steel since the 1960s. Based on the technologies acquired through this experience, we have been manufacturing roll press equipment to be used for the pressing process, including manufacturing lines of lithium ion batteries, since the 1990s. Based on our extensive experience and technological expertise, we provide entire production lines including unwinders and winders according to customer needs, in addition to highly reliable roll press equipment.

Features

Roll press equipment is necessary to ensure the high density of the electrode material and uniform battery performance.
We cater to those needs with our technologies for roll-to-roll press, and for pressing at high linear pressure and with high precision.

Capable of uniform roll-to-roll press and processing of advanced materials

We have adopted the roll-to-roll method for the equipment. With this manufacturing technology, film substrates, which are tens of meters each in length, are pressed in a continuous process. The manufacturing devices are connected, which significantly facilitates the process and devices for conveying the material. The equipment is also capable of uniformly pressing and processing electrode materials and other advanced materials.

Use of high-precision rolls

Processing precision of the roll (roundness, cylindricity and concentricity): within 1/1,000 mm (when the roll is φ500 mm or smaller). It permits high-precision processing in both the flow direction and width direction.

Adoption of a mechanism for roll deflection compensation

This mechanism compensates for roll deflection caused by the load from the material. This ensures high-precision processing in the width direction, even when the load on the material or width of the material has been changed.

Adoption of a function for setting roll temperature in accordance with the material’s properties

We have added a function for adjusting the heating temperature to the high-rigidity, high-precision roll. This enables the processing temperature to be set in accordance with the material’s properties.

Pressing at constant pressure and with fixed position of the roll

The equipment permits setting of the roll position, in addition to the pressure.

Production line components appropriate for material property

We can provide production line components, from material unwinder to winder, in accordance with the material’s properties and the request of each customer, in addition to standard production line components.
