FSW (Friction Stir Welding) is a solid-state joining process which is used on aluminum alloys and copper alloys, materials are welded by frictional heat without reaching the melting points and strong points are ;

  • Lower distortion and deflection
  • Good weld appearance
  • No blowhole and cracks

Principle of FSW

Feature

The deflection after welding is less than 1/10 of that by arc welding
(e.g., the jointing temperature is approximately 500°C for alminum alloy)
